National Rescue Dog Day - Shop for a CAUS
Posted by Wine Gourmet on
Every year on May 20th, National Rescue Dog Day is observed to bring awareness to all the sweet pups eagerly awaiting their furever home in shelters across the country.
According to estimates from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), "Approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats." While the number of animals euthanized in shelters has decreased since 2011 because, "Approximately 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted each year", there's still a major need for pet rescue and adoption.
Companies like CAUS are dedicated to addressing that need and continuing to decrease the number of shelter animals that are euthanized.
In the last few years, the push towards using reusable stainless-steel tumblers has significantly increased. Not only because of their sheer convenience, but also as a response to the need to cut down on single use items. But what if I told you a tumbler could do more than just that? What if it could help rescue animals in shelters across the country?
When CAUS was created, it was born on the idea that, “we can choose to exist in the world or choose to seek positive change while we’re here”. So, with that idea in mind, they produced a line of high quality, beautifully designed drinkware that donates 25% of ALL profit to charities fighting four different causes, like pet rescue and adoption!
Ever heard of a nonprofit in Sacramento, California called RedRover? For over 30 years the mission of RedRover has been to “bring animals out of crisis and strengthen the bond between people and animals through emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance and education”. They have 3 programs that work collectively to aid in all aspects of a crisis, known as RedRover Responders, RedRover Relief, and RedRover Readers.
“The RedRover Responders program works in cooperation with law enforcement, local agencies, and animal organizations to shelter and care for animals rescued from mass cruelty or neglect and animals displaced by natural disasters before they can be reconnected with their family.
Second, the RedRover Relief program provides financial assistance, resources, and emotional support to pet owners with animals in life-threatening situations and victims escaping domestic violence with their pets.
Finally, the RedRover Readers program helps educators teach elementary school kids how to understand the emotional states of others, develop the skills needed for empathy and explore the bond between people and animals through select stories and discussion.” With the utilization of these 3 programs, RedRover has been able to provide relief and assistance to countless animals and families in crisis since 1987.
Together with RedRover, each CAUS drinkware item purchased that features a paw print icon next to the logo, donates 25% of all the profit to RedRover to help fund their programs and further extend their reach.
