    About the Vineyards

    Côte des Roses

Côte des Roses celebrates the Mediterranean lifestyle. The Languedoc appellation stretches along the Mediterranean coast from the Spanish border as far as the city of Nîmes, along the foothills of the Montagne Noire and the Cévennes. The soils are highly varied, mainly with hard limestone and schist, but also gravel transported by the rivers of the Languedoc region. The warm, windy climate (“semi-arid Mediterranean climate with mild winters”) helps the grapes to ripen in good, healthy condition, while retaining all their fresher qualities thanks to the altitude and the influence of the sea which eases the scorching summer heat. The bottle is original with its base in the shape of a rose, created by a young designer from the Ecole Boulle. A wine to be given in the same way you would offer a bunch of roses!

    Domaine Albert Bichot

The Côte d’Or is the heart of Burgundy where the most prestigious wines of the region are produced. In order to highlight this exceptional terroir, the extended name of “Bourgogne Côte d’Or” has been created in 2017. Our white “Secret de Famille” (Family Secret) comes from this very limited and specific geographical area; it is indeed crafted from a carefully sourced blend of grapes (vineyards in villages well-known for their white wines: Saint Aubin, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet...). Our red “Secret de Famille” (Family Secret) comes from this very limited and specific geographical area; it is indeed crafted from a carefully sourced blend of grapes ( vineyards situated in renowned villages like Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Marsannay…).We treat these wines as “Villages” wines, with a "haute-couture" vinification and ageing.

    Tasting Notes

Gerard Bertrand Cotes des Roses Chardonnay

This cuvée boasts a lovely yellow colour with golden tints. It is fresh and intense on the nose, revealing aromas of citrus and exotic fruits, flowers and a few notes of candy, pear and pineapple. The fresh, flavoursome palate is lively, precise and pure thanks to the clear mineral backdrop and a certain opulence. This Languedoc is ideal at 10°C as an aperitif or with fish and shellfish

Gerard Bertrand Cotes des Roses Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre

The colour is a brilliant ruby red. The bouquet reveals lovely intense red-fruit scents, in particular strawberries, set off nicely by spicy hints. The tannins are fine and silky on the palate and the wine is generous and fleshy, very fruity and with a strong mineral accent. This Languedoc is ideal at 16°C with tapas, meat and roasted vegetables.

Domaine Albert Bichot Bourgogne Côte d'Or Chardonnay "Secret de Famille"

The nose is dominated by hints of citrus and white flowers, and evolve in notes of honey and dried fruits. The mouth is very balanced, skillfully blending vivacity and roundness. With a meal, this "Secret de Famille" will use the charms of its aromatic palette on seafood, fish cooked in sauce or simply-prepared white meats. Serve at 12°C. (54°F) Ideally should be drunk when in the full fruitiness of its youth or can be laid for a few years to enhance its more complex brioche hints.

Domaine Albert Bichot Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir "Secret de Famille"

This charming wine features predominant fruity aromas of blackcurrant and wild red berries. Velvety and silky, this wine boasts soft, balanced structure on the palate, which ends with a delicately perfumed finish. Enjoy this wine with roasted or grilled meats, poultry, fish and mild cheeses. Serve at 15°C - 16°C (59°F - 60°F). This wine is best enjoyed within 3 to 5 years of purchasing in order to appreciate all of its fruitiness.
