Tasting notes:
Monday, Nov. 25th | 5-8pm – Nicole from Siema Wines
- Paul D. Grüner Veltliner
- Golden straw color with delightfully perfume & bright spice aromas, ripe Grüner varietal flavors, crisp spicy fruit and a full yet dry finish. Very clean & fresh, this is a great party wine and an awesome value.
- Anton Bauer Rosé
- Clear, intensive pink; stimulating fragrant nose - floral and berry: clear, elegant structure; refreshing on the palate through its juicy acid; well cooled a marvellous patio wine for long summer evenings.
- Rosso Piceno
- A spicy, fruity red from the Marche region of Italy’s Adriatic Coast, made with a blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes. Rosso Piceno wines usually display notes of dark cherries, plums, and violets that are complemented by mellow tannins.
- Anton Bauer Wagram Pinot Noir
- This Pinot Noir shows a precise balance between the fruit and acidity that makes it fresh and lively. It has a typical Pinot Noir nose with strawberries, raspberries and floral notes such as violets. On the palate the wine is well balanced, elegant and it has a long finish tasting of red berries
- Stone Hill Cream Sherry
- Luxuriously sweet, fragrant and complex fortified wine. It possesses the rich, nutty flavor and aroma characteristic of traditional sherry, which develops during extended aging in old, small oak barrels. Enjoy after dinner by itself or as the perfect accompaniment to caramel or chocolate desserts, especially with nuts.
Tuesday, Nov. 26th | 5-8pm – Stan from Robins Cellars
- Manfred Breit Piesporter Goldtropfchen Riesling
- Refreshing aromas of tangerine and lime are laced with petrol on this steely kabinett. Waves of ripe peach and nectarine flavor add delicate sweetness on the palate, accented by savory notes of dried herb and tea leaves. Lemon-lime acidity leads the long finish.
- Rued Russian River Chardonnay
- Intriguing aromas of cantaloupe, vanilla, and five-spice are wrapped up in refreshing notes of Gravenstein apple and sweet citrus. On the palate this wine delivers a crisp attack that expands into rich flavors of yellow delicious apple, Meyer lemon, and sweet summer herbs.
- Ramsay North Coast Pinot Noir
- The Ramsay Pinot Noir is a carefully crafted blend from grapes in the North Coast counties which include Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake and Solano, where sunny, warm days are invariably followed by surprisingly cool nights. The near-perfect weather is ideal for this delicate variety, as the cool nighttime temperatures help to retain the grape's natural acids and preserve the graceful aromas and flavors for which the often-difficult Pinot Noir is so renowned. Initial aromas of cherry and raspberry evolve to include subtle notes of toast and leather in this immediately appealing wine. The red fruit aromas are reinforced on the palate where dried cherry flavors, supported by just a hint of varietal earthiness, are carried nimbly forward by the silky-smooth tannins and pinpoint acidity. This wine will pair beautifully with simple, grilled salmon or sage-dusted pork tenderloin.
- Pierano Six Clones Merlot
- Aromas of black cherries, red ripe raspberries, strawberry and spice (white pepper), join together in a single sensation of olfactory bliss. The mouth is filled with an array of flavors, including black cherry, strawberry and raspberry with lingering hints of cocoa and toasted oak. Moderate tannins and good acidity leave a pleasing, long lasting finish. Each juicy sip is more comforting than the last always leaving the palate to want more.
- Wilson Creek Almond Sparkling Wine
- This gold-medal winning sparkling wine is also referred to as the "OH MY GOSH"® sparkling wine. Aromatic with sweet almond marzipan dominating the bouquet and a lingering finish of caramelized sugar. Great with desserts, cuddling, hot tubs, picnics, fireplaces, brunches, and parties.
Wednesday, Nov. 27th | 12-5pm – Scott from Winebow
- Juvé & Camps, Cava Brut Reserva de La Familia
- Our most well-known cava is a Brut Nature made with free-run juice from grapes grown on our Espiells (Can Rius), La Cuscona and Mediona estates. It has a typically pale golden colour, with a rich, elegant nose that begins with ripe white fruit and moves towards the notes that come from ageing: baked goods, toasted bread, spices… On the palate it is extremely seductive, with a fresh, pleasant texture and long finish that is once again reminiscent of white fruit.
- Martin Ray Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
- Layers of Meyer lemon curd, ripe bosc pear, subtle orange blossom and honey. Light and juicy with vibrant acidity, with well-integrated oak and a touch of vanilla bean.
- Zenato Ripassa Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2015
- Deep ruby-red in color, this wine shows intense aromas of blackberries and black currants underscored by aromas of spice pepper, and a hint of leather. On the palate, it is smooth and viscous with well-balanced acidity and alcohol.
- Bodegas Borsao Garnacha
- Very intense cherry red colour with tones of purple. Presents in the nose a great concentration of aromas of ripe red fruit with floral nuances. In the mouth it is a well structured rich wine that evokes tastes of blackberry, plum and tones of leather and vanilla, with a soft and silky tannin.
- Bodegas Borsao Chardonnay Macabeo
- Straw yellow. Has strong citric and tropical fruit aromas. In the mouth it’s creamy and fresh, in perfect harmony with the acidity.
