Broadbent Vinho Verde Rose

Four indigenous red varietals are grown in the top quality commune of Vinho Verde make a top quality Rosé. Similar to our white Vinho Verde in regards to spritziness and low alcohol, but with a little fuller body. Strawberry, pomegranate, orange zest.

HISTORY
Bartholomew Broadbent’s love for Portuguese wines stems from their 
eminent drinkability, restrained alcohol levels and the balance which makes 
them versatile enough to pair with all kinds of everyday dining. He was 
looking to make wines which were friendly on the palate, yet with enough 
quality to please the discriminating connoisseur, at an affordable price.  
Since then, 20 years and counting, Broadbent has partnered with family 
owned wineries around the globe to produce wines rich with the essence 
of place and tradition. First launched in 2005, the Broadbent Vinho Verde 
quickly earned a reputation as one of the finest Vinho Verdes available. 

VITICULTURE/VINIFICATION
Produced in the Barcelos commune—the top quality area for Vinho Verde—
made exclusively from red grape varieties. The reds and rosé wines from 
Vinho Verde are harder to come by because the Minho region (where Vinho 
Verde comes from) is quite cool and often rainy, making it hard to ripen red 
grapes. A soft crushing and pressing make it possible to gently extract the 
juice. The rosé must is clarified, resulting in a bright, clear wine. To make 
proper Vinho Verde, malolactic fermentation is suppressed and at bottling, 
carbon dioxide is injected to give the wine its characteristic spritz.
