Water Drive

Posted by Wine Gourmet on

Did you rush to the grocery store to pick up cases of bottled water before Hurricane Florence was expected to hit? Are those waters now sitting in your home waiting to be used out of convenience? The people of North Carolina need our help and our extra water.

In partnership with Can Am Aquatics Learn to Swim School & Competitive Stroke Clinics we will be hosting a water drive this weekend at Wine Gourmet. Stop by our store to donate any extra cases* of bottled water you may have this Saturday, September 22nd from 9am to 8pm and this Sunday, September 23rd from 12pm to 5pm. Please share this post and be a part of helping us reach our goal of filling a 20 FOOT truck to full capacity! (*Please ensure you bring cases of bottled water, as gallon jugs do not stack well.)

While our city endured it’s share of flooding, it pails in comparison to the destruction that has wreaked havoc through the Coastal Carolinas. The National Weather Service reported that in some areas there were over 30 inches of rainfall causing historic flooding. According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety as of 9am on September 18th there 339,404 statewide power outages. As of 9am on September 20th, there had been 4,743 people and 1,019 animals rescued and evacuated.  Many of us have made memories along these coastal cities that have welcomed us with open arms each and every time. This is the least we can do to help ease their burdens as they begin to restore their lives.

Thank you all in advance!
